Celebrating one million scripts processed through CLEO EPS
CLEO Systems today announced that one million prescriptions have now been sent via its electronic prescribing solution, CLEO EPS. CLEO EPS enables seamless, clinically safe electronic prescribing, allowing prescriptions to be sent directly to a patient’s chosen community pharmacy. It has now been rolled out across 52 NHS Trusts and Independent ADHD providers in England, with an additional 180 sites as part of the Community Pharmacy Pathfinder Programme.
CLEO EPS is a first of its kind, electronic prescribing solution and has been transforming prescription management in NHS secondary care and outpatient settings since its pilot launch in late March 2022.
CLEO EPS achieved NHS accreditation in June 2022 ready for role out across NHS out patient settings and was subsequently chosen by NHS England for its Pathfinder Independent Pharmacist Prescriber Pilot Programme, successfully enabling pharmacists in the community to prescribe for minor illnesses and preparing the way for the new Independent Prescribers. It has also been rolled out across other environments bringing massive patient and clinician benefits.
The solution is continuously evolving and now supports all prescribers across outpatient services and across a wide range of settings. Its scope continues to expand, with current First Of Type initiatives covering Repeat Prescribing and NHS Homecare Prescribing.
Clinicians describe the CLEO EPS as “a million times quicker and easier than paper prescriptions,” as it means that users no longer need printed FP10 forms eliminating lost prescriptions and administrative burdens. Its paperless approach supports environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions associated with physical prescription handling.
